This photo was taken during the street dancing parade of the Kadayawan sa Dabaw Festival on August 2012.
The term “Kadayawan” is derived from the Mandaya word “madayaw”, a warm and friendly greeting used to explain a thing that is valuable, superior, beautiful, good, or profitable.
Its culmination happens every 3rd weekend of August. This comprises of several activities, such as the one above – street dancing. Floral Float Parade, several competitions, trade shows , etc.
So if you’re thinking of visiting Davao City, that would be the best time of the year, for you will find abundant harvest of fruits, crops and other products.
