Photo of the Day – Street Dancers

Kadayawan

This photo was taken during the street dancing parade of the Kadayawan sa Dabaw Festival on August 2012.

The   term “Kadayawan” is derived from the Mandaya word “madayaw”, a  warm   and friendly greeting used to explain a thing that is valuable,   superior,  beautiful, good, or profitable.

Its culmination happens every 3rd weekend of August. This comprises of several activities, such as the one above – street dancing. Floral Float Parade, several competitions, trade shows , etc.

So if you’re thinking of visiting Davao City, that would be the best time of the year, for you will find abundant harvest of fruits, crops and other products.

Come and join us then! 🙂
