Roadtrip 2016 – Roswell, New Mexico

From Best Western Pine Springs in Ruidoso, travel time to Roswell is just about an hour. So the hubby and I decided to have a lazy day. We took our time preparing and had a late breakfast before leaving the hotel.

The view on the way to Roswell:

Dessert view. Wide roads and not crowded. Relaxing drive. Perfect road trip experience!

Big horn sheep beside the road. 🙂 This is one of the things that I love about road tripping in America. The chance to see wildlife on the road. Amazing…

This batch are going up the hill.

Some just remained on the road. And seemed to enjoy our presence. 🙂

We arrived in Roswell around lunch time. But since we had a late breakfast, eating wasn’t on the plan yet. We decided to check the city instead.

Then we found the UFO Museum.

Roswell is most popularly known for having its name attached to what is now called the Roswell UFO incident, though the crash site of the alleged UFO was some 75 miles (121 km) from Roswell and closer to Corona. The investigation and debris recovery was handled by the local Roswell Army Air Field. (wikipedia)

I have a pretty famous family name. ha ha

There are so many interesting things I’ve read inside the museum. And you know, we cannot discount the possibility that it is all true. I mean, seriously. Why would people execute an affidavit to testify about what they’ve seen and swear on it, if it isn’t?

More of the Museum displays:

This reminds me of that Alien movie with Keanu Reeves.

More readings…

And a reminder for parents to take care of their kids. 🙂

And of course, Hollywood movies about Roswell are featured there too.

I had to pose with the aliens too! ha ha

Inside ….

And outside the museum… 🙂

Wherever  you go in Roswell, alien displays abound. Like the following below:

I couldn’t resist having a picture with this green alien. So cool.. ha ha  Check the green steps on the floor!

You know, this was a fun day. I maybe naive, but I think there’s some truth to it. Based on what I’ve read while there, several people saw “them”.  And they were actually threatened if they talked about it. That must have been very scary for those that saw the incident.

After a hectic afternoon, we proceeded to our home for the next few days.

The Best Western.

I love this hotel because it never disappoints. The rooms are large, clean and nice. The price is cheap compared to what it offers. Plus it comes with free breakfast. 🙂

Across the hotel, is another favorite. The fast food restaurant, Denny’s.

I love their steak with pilaf rice.

If you ever have the chance to visit New Mexico, include Roswell in your itinerary. You just might it interesting too.

I am glad that I did not see real aliens though. ha ha That would be freaky I guess…
