    Hi again,
Do enjoy the reading and hope to share a great meal with you and yours someday.
Always been a dream of mine to open restaurant in Davao, years of thought but hard to get going there because of some difficult ingredients to find in PI among other things.
Ironically I first found your blog while searching for typhoon info last month.

    • Hello Michael,

Thanks for reading my blog again!

Yes, just let us know once you’re finally in Davao. Then maybe we can all get together one day. 🙂

You know, when John first arrived here, I found it difficult to get imported stuff. But in the recent years, Gaisano Mall and SM have well-stocked imported section. We were in Gaisano the other night, they were displaying boxes of new goods. I found Jack Daniel’s sauce too…

Yep, I wrote about typhoon Bopha’s effect in Compostela a month ago. It was a very sad experience..

Happy new year to you and family! 🙂

    Dear Lea,
I guess I’m now ‘double following” you as my latest response was from my cell phone.
This has been a very sad year for me unfortunately… many hopes, dreams dashed through my fathers passing and my beloved wife (a filipina) left me after many years. Your blog becomes a two edge sword for me, the pics of the pearl farm bring back the fondest of all memories and your food discussions remind of failed plans to begin unique restaurant business in Mindinao. Eventually I would like to discuss this with you privately.
The typhoon was so unfortunate, so much loss, I’m glad that many others were spared great loss including my inlaws and family on the eastern coast.
I pray the future can repair my spirit and inspire new hopeful dreams of home and Mindinao.
    God Bless,
    Mikel

    • Hello Michael,

I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. For your dad’s passing and for your wife. May God strengthen you during this trying time. I always believe that everything will work out fine for those who believe in him. 🙂

You know, John and I eat out a lot due to our work. There are so many restaurants in Davao but we only have few favorites. So the ones I like make it to my blog. Some are just not worth it, I’m afraid.

Thank you again for following my blog.
