I just turned 44. 🙂 Happy birthday to me!
I honor God for all the blessings that he has bestowed upon me and my family in the past year. It has been a great one. Thank you Lord.
And a big “thank you” to my husband for taking me to the ride of my life as an early birthday gift. 🙂 I shall be forever grateful to him for the wonderful memories….
I am still in America as I write this. But let me share with you the journey that has me awed and amazed until now. I am not just lucky. I am so blessed.
Our 2015 road trip, started in Seattle. (I’ll be writing a separate blog for all of the places I’ve been to soon. )
For now, let me share with you the photos I have compiled in the past month or so. 🙂
Found snow on top of Mt. Rainier National Park. It felt like Christmas with all the evergreens around me. haha…. Beautiful right? 🙂
From there, the road trip continues to Vancouver, Canada. Stayed at the English Bay for a few days. Toured the city. And enjoyed our walks at Stanley, Park. 🙂
We traveled about 6 hours from Vancouver to Clearwater, British Columbia. I wrote about it here. (Type for Wells Gray Park in the search box of this blog. )
Wells Gray Park is a beautiful place. I had the chance for the first time to stay in a cabin beside the lake. Ohhh… that was an incredible experience. I loved waking up to the sound of the birds chirping. The cold weather also brought fog to the lake which made it look mysterious and mystifying.
Later in the day, the same lake looked so different… 🙂
From British Columbia, our next stop is Jasper National Park. But on our way there, we stopped at Mt. Robson.
Finally, Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada. The stunning lakes and the glaciers in this park, blew my mind….
Seeing a glacier is a staggering experience. But standing on it, is another story. It made me think of my own mortality. Geee…some people go through life without realizing how awesome it is to be alive. While God gave me the chance to stand in one of his marvelous creations. It made me feel so small. My life, is but a speck on earth…. Really. I thank you Lord for your patience with me. 🙂
As if the above experiences weren’t mind blowing enough, our next destination took us to Lake Louise of Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. It snowed for 2 days. So when we got to Fairmont Hotel in Lake Louise, it felt like I was in winter wonderland.
Moraine Lake is as breathtaking as Lake Louise. Look! 🙂
This place is about 15 minutes drive from Lake Louise. Summer time is great in both lakes. But I loved the winter weather better. haha…
See, clear blue lakes. With the rockies as their backdrop. Plus snow! I didn’t ask for the latter. But God knew what perfect means. To me, that is… I am a happy, spoiled child! 🙂 Thank you, thank you Lord!
Am I tiring you? I am not done yet. 🙂 So let me tire you more. ha ha
Let me proceed to the town of Banff.
At the castle-like office of Parks Canada. 🙂
At the Banff Fairmont Hotel.
With the Resident Artist of Fairmont Hotel, Mr. Brent Lynch. I found his paintings really awesome. 🙂
Okay, notice the colors in his paintings and the pictures below? Blue, azure, aquamarine, jade, green… Those are normal hues for lakes and rivers in Alberta. You really should visit the place. Believe me, you would be amazed too. 🙂
Got tired of walking here. ha ha… Fall certainly adds to the beauty of the place.
At Tunnel Mountain…
At Lake Minnewanka… 🙂
I have so much to share about Banff, but I will do so in my future blog. So be sure to visit again. 🙂
After our Canada escapade, our trip brought us to Glacier National Park in Montana. At the Many Glacier Trail, I saw for the first time, several black bears. The place was so windy that it almost blew me away. haha But check out the view!
The sunrise, hitting the rocky mountains, was a sight to behold. I’m afraid that this picture fails in comparison to the actual view.
Going to the Sun Road is a scary trip if you are like me who’s afraid of heights. 🙂 But despite that fact, the place is so beautiful. This is easier said than done, but have the courage to face your fear. You will be rewarded with amazing views on top. And at the bottom, is Lake McDonald’s, where the picture below was taken.
Ahhh , the first time we went to Yellowstone National Park, the U.S. Government shutdown all the parks. So before we could enjoy ourselves then, we were asked to leave. Awful huh? 😦
So we made sure for it to be a part of our road trip this year. And here we are, Yellowstone, the second time around. 🙂
This is just a preview of why we wanted to see Yellowstone. More of this soon as well.
Right at the boundary of Yellowstone National Park, is Grand Teton National Park. That’s where the photo below was taken.
On our way to visit the family, we had several stop overs. Two of those are the Fantastic Caverns in Missouri. And The Parthenon in Tennessee.
It has been an amazing journey. All those experiences, have taught me so many things. And made me appreciate our nature more. I know that I will never be the same person again.
Traveling has broadened my mind.
For all these things, I will forever be grateful to God. Thank you Lord for granting my heart’s desires and more. With the love of my life.
